I know we missed a WoW Report last week! We are back this week with a brand new one! Since Burning Crusade came out 2 new races emerged the Draenei (Alliance) and the Blood Elves (Horde). With these new races I definitely wanted to create a new character. Since I play alliance I went with the Draenei and I chose to be a shaman because no other alliance race allowed you to be a shaman. So here is my journey checking out the Azuremyst Isles and the new Draenei race.

As a Draenei character you start out in Ammen Vale, which is a subzone off the coast of Azuremyst Isle. In this small subzone you will do your first set of quests and get used to the game if you are a first time player. The Draenei characters look like a mix of Night Elves and Tauren races. You have a tail and hoofs like the Tauren, but big ears, bright eyes, and blue skin like the Night Elves.

Questing in Ammen Vale is very easy and the landscape of the land is very nice, reminds me a lot of questing through Teldrassil when playing as a night elf. Looking around you will find escape pods and smoking bits of planar ship scattered around the landscape. Quests should run you through levels 1-6 then you move on to Azuremyst Isle.

Azuremyst Isle is a much bigger area than Ammen Vale and you are given a whole slew of quests to do here. You will also find many class and profession trainers at Azure Watch where you will be turning in most of your quests. To the far west you will find The Exodar which is the capital city of the Draenei. Here you will find what you would expect to find in any capital city, the auction house, bank, trainers, and tons of different merchants.

After you have quested most of Azuremyst Isle you are told to go over to Bloodmyst Isle. Here is one of the most entertaining quests I have seen in WoW, the Kessel Run. Here you are given an Elekk, which is the Draenei’s mount and you are instructed to warn 3 people all across Azuremyst Isle. You are given 15 minutes to complete the quest, which is more than enough time since the mount you are given is an epic mount with 100% speed increase. The reason I like this quest so much is that it gives you a taste of what it is like to have a mount, since you won’t get one until you’re level 40.

Overall I am having a lot of fun playing my Draenei character and being a shaman is fun too, those totems come in handy! That about wraps up this week’s WoW Report, stay tuned for next weeks WoW Report!
