The actual world of Freeport City, which becomes your "playground" if I may, connects together very well as the story progresses. You move from one point to the next without noticing major changes or simply leaving one area for another entirely differently stylized area. In addition they’ve modeled most of the background (at least in a few scenes) entirely as well, so as you look over the balcony from the 24th story of the Sintek building you can see the cityscape across the river just as nicely detailed as the room behind you. The water seen a few times on the "docks" is also some of the best I have seen in a game. The surface rolls perfectly and when you jump in to take a swim the exact opposite visual effect can be seen looking up.

Although the interface is a bit futuristic and unique it isn’t as intuitive and generally recognizable as the Half-Life 2 interface. Everything is contained within the brightly colored circular UI in the lower-left, including your weapon choice, grenade count, life, etc. The grenades look more like Batman-symbols and the weapon choice lights are also a bit confusing initially. Despite this minor interface complaint, the gameplay in general works smoothly.

There is honestly not much negative to say about the graphics in Sin Episodes. Ritual has truly put together a visually stunning feature and they will use that to their advantage as this series continues.

Sin Episodes gives you an arsenal of only 3 weapons: your pistol-like Magnum, a shotgun referred to as the Scattergun, and an Assault Rifle. Each of these has a secondary fire: the Magnum’s which is an energetic single blue burst that has enough energy to fire right through multiple enemies; the Scattergun has a Unreal Tournament-like shotgun shell that bounces off of walls; and the Assault Rifle has a typical grenade launcher. And of course, your grenades, that seem to use a magnesium based charge, as they glow a blazing white and send of sparks as they burn after explosion. This selection of weaponry is a bit on the skimpy side, however it gets the job done, which, is essentially just killing a whole crap-load of guys.
