Saints Row (360) Review

Gameplay

You start out the game with a WoW or Oblivion like customization screen that allows you to completely customize your character. You can pick from black, white and Asian. I did notice that you could only be a male, not a female. I created a crazy looking white guy with some dreads. Hopefully he was gangster enough! You can really customize your character later in the game with new clothes, tattoos, and some ice! Anyways from here you are brought to a cut scene where you life is saved by the leader of The Saints. He has a striking resemblance to Samuel L. Jackson! From here you are pointed in the direction to your first mission.

The game has the same GTA style of free play; you do not have to do the missions or activities if you do not want to. You can aimlessly roam around and cause havoc. Also the game has almost the exact same interface as GTA had. You have a little circular map / radar in the bottom corner and in the top corner you have a circular heath and "rep" bar that will also show you which weapon you have out and how many rounds you have in the weapon.

The actual story missions are varied. One you could have to go pick someone up and drive them somewhere and the other could have you go kill a rival gang leader. There are 4 gangs in the game, The Saints (your gang), The Los Carnales, the Vice Kings, and the Westside Rollers. Each gang is identified with their gang colors. The missions are also organized by gang. There is no order to the missions; you can do a Los Carnales mission then 2 Vice Kings missions, then a Westside Rollers mission.
