“Intel seems like it’s going to be making a bigger push at gamers with the launch of Penryn, and HotHardware managed to score some deets on the company’s upcoming “Skulltrail” platform, which is built-around server-class hardware reconfigured for gaming. The new mobo pictured here supports dual quad-core Penryn Xeon processors, SLI graphics, and four PCI Express x16 slots, as well as two standard PCI slots. You’re also looking at a whopping six internal SATA ports, dual eSATA ports, six USB ports, a lone FireWire port, and Gigabit Ethernet. That’s quite a foundation for a gaming rig — let’s just hope pricing is at least pretend reasonable, eh?”
“If you’ve just picked up or received BioShock, you might want to take a look at the Xbox Live Marketplace for six HD videos from BradyGames that will help you locate all of the game’s audio diaries. Finding the audio diaries is definitely something I’d recommend, as they really do a good job of fleshing out the backstory of the game, which would otherwise go largely unmentioned.
Plus, you’ll get an achievement for finding them all, and there’s nothing wrong with some gamerscore love.”
Even though CES isn’t for another two weeks, Kotaku got a sneak preview for the upcoming rhythm game Patapon. Everyone agrees that this one definitely has a good design, which ties in nicely with Japan studios’ highly addictive and eternally cheerful Loco Roco. This will be a must-have.
We’ve talked about Smash Bros. Brawl here before on ThinkGaming, but now there is a video to go along with that. If this video doesn’t move anything inside of you, then your dead inside. Plain and simple.
I waited for a while to review this game just because it was one of those games I’ve been dying to play and beat. I just got the game about a week or so ago and Oh My God, it is epic! This game is amazing and if you don’t have it yet, what are you thinking? You must not like the First Person Shooter genre because everyone who enjoys a good FPS had this game on reservation. Spike TV’s Video Game Awards voted it Best Shooter and Best Military Game, and it’s well deserved. I quite honestly believe it deserves Best Multiplayer over Halo 3, and Best game fueled by Dew because thats all I drank while playing.
The X-Play Best of 2007 Awards aired last night on G4, and Bioshock took it home with top honors in 4 categories which included; probably coveted Game of the Year category. BS (there’s a fun abbreviation) also won for Best Writing, Best Soundtrack, and Best Art Direction.
You knew they were coming but now PSP 3.80 and PS3 2.10 are ready for your gaming consoles. DivX and WMV video support with Blu-ray profile 1.1 now ready for your PS3 along with Net radio and a few other awesome things.
In Britian, Wiis are very very rare; you just can’t find one. France, on the other hand has a few floating around. With Britain and France seperated by naught but a rail tunnel and a shallow pond, British retailers are putting two and two together and are heading off to France to get their hands on a Wii for Christmas. And, I’m pretty sure the Britians don’t want to pay £1,000,000, they’d probably rather pay retail.
Well if you’re a Gran Turismo fan like we are here at ThinkGaming this may be huge. Sony has announced a schedule for online content to beef up the driving experience in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. The download is scheduled for later this week. Starting on 12/13, distribution will begin on free video content for the Gran Turismo TV as well.
