Sony Delays Skype PSP

After hyping up Skpe on the PSP, Sony has decided to delay the Skype service from the PSP due to the microphones — the single pack PSPJ-15010 and twin pack PSPJ-15011 — which “did not meet the Skype specifications” and thus failed the certification process. It’s now scheduled to launch sometime here in the end of January.

Does lots of blood equal a good MMO? I heard there was going to be an ultra gory MMO, but after seeing the trailer is just looks ok. It looks nice, but like many other people, I thought there would be a lot more blood and gore.

“IBM and The Mayo Clinic have teamed up to open a research facility, which they hope will bring about advances in the field of medical imaging, and in particular to things like CT scans. At present, it can take a doctor hours to look over a set of scans, which in some cases can endanger a patient’s life. It’s hoped that by using the PS3’s Cell chip they can not only create 3D images of a patient’s brain much faster, they can also then compare those to earlier 3D images in only minutes, a feat which once took hours. Pretty neat, considering the Cell was built to, you know. Play games. The Mayo Clinic’s chairman Bradley Erickson says this is not the first time games tech has been used to aid medical science. In addition to their current research using the Cell chip, Erickson says that “other games technology”, including high-end graphics cards, are often used in medicine, particularly in the field of imaging.”

Just to think that the PS3 actually lost Sony money is not understandable. As impressive as it is it costs a tons to manufacture, and believe it or not but the more they sell, they more money they loose as well. Before it costs $800 to manufacture, but now they’ve cut that in half and now it’s being manufactured for $400. Japanese analysts predict the system may actually stat breaking even in late 2009.

There has been a lot of talk about the PSP lately, you know, with Skype coming to the PSP and all. Now Sony has been crazy with all of thier color options for the PSP (at least over in Japan). This time Sony is going to be releasing a mint green color for the PSP-2000 “slim” over in Japan. But you won’t be getting one over here in the U.S. (well at least for now).
