May 22nd, 2006 by Bob Buskirk

As you make your way into the massive South Hall in the Los Angeles Convention Center, you’ll see directly up front making a powerful first impression - Electronic Arts. Their booth has a circular shape with a gigantic full 360-degree video screen showing seamlessly connected 360-degree video. Featured within this gigantic booth are many of EA’s fantastic upcoming games, including Crytek’s Crysis, Battlefield 2142, Superman Returns, Madden NFL 07, Spore, etc. Check out this full on tour of the EA booth at the 2006 E3.

The "main" entrance into the Electronic Arts booth with the EA logo looming above.
Down the left side is Battlfield 2142 and Crysis, both stunning First-Person Shooter games, being shown with playable hands-on demos. Down the right side is Superman Returns and a selection of EA’s upcoming DS, PSP, and mobile (cell phone) games.
Showing the selection of handheld games on display. More of Battlefield 2142 playable machines.
Inside of the massive circular room EA is showcasing Battle for Middle Earth 2 on the 360, Madden NFL 2007, and NCAA Football 2007. The 360-degree screen and video, once inside of this room, was the loudest and best display on the showfloor. It was extremely well done, with the video overlaps absolutely perfect, and truly captivating to watch. Many people would come in and sit down on the floor and watch the 15-20 minute running show of all of EA’s various games. One of the best displays and most traversed booths at E3 this year.
The closed room for showing Spore was off to the left side of the EA booth. In addition the entire back area had a 2nd floor where EA had private showings of various games and sales offices. The Spore demo was so popular (only second to Nintendo), I had to capture the line wrapping around the back of the EA booth.
That is the entire EA booth for now. I look forward to seeing what their design will be next E3 2007!
