Play & Charge Kit
The Xbox 360 wireless controller comes with a battery pack that takes 2 AA batteries. If you plan on playing your Xbox 360 a lot it is really worth getting a Play & Charge kit. It is a rechargeable battery and USB charging cable. The battery when fully charged provides 25 hours of gameplay. You charge the battery via the USB charging cable, you can charge either while gaming or when your Xbox 360 is in stand by mode. Batteries are expensive enough so it is well worth getting this accessory.
Quick Charge Kit
If you buy a plug and charge kit or an extra battery you may want to pickup a Quick charge kit. The quick charge kit is the fastest way to re-power your wireless controller. You can charge one battery pack in less than 2 hours and 2 in less than 4 hours. Unlike the Play & Charge kit the Quick Charge kit uses an AC adapter to charge your batteries so your Xbox 360 does not have to be on when charging. Simply put this is the easiest and fastest way to recharge your controller batteries.
Universal Remote Control
Just like the original Xbox the Xbox 360 has a built in DVD player. If you are going to be using the 360 as a DVD player a remote is a nice thing to have. The controller will work fine for navigating a DVD, but the remote is much better and easier to use. Also if you have Windows Media Center Edition you can stream movies and music from your PC to your Xbox 360 so the remote is nice for navigating through your media on your PC. There are a few other remotes out there, but this one is the most popular.
